- The Circularity Challenge 2026 is a national innovation movement powered by INSEE ecocycle Lanka and event managed by gapHQ to inspire a smarter, low-carbon future.
- This competition acts as a dynamic platform for students, entrepreneurs, and changemakers to transform sustainable ideas into action by rethinking how materials and waste are redesigned, reused, and regenerated.
- By uniting academia, industry, and local communities, the challenge fosters cross-disciplinary collaboration and practical problem-solving to accelerate Sri Lanka’s transition toward a circular economy. Ultimately, it aims to empower the next generation of leaders to redefine the way we produce, consume, and build for a more sustainable tomorrow.
- Following a successful inaugural debut, this impactful movement is now returning for the second time to empower the next generation of leaders.

University of Colombo Workshop
The “Art of Innovation” Workshop, a key event under Circularity Challenge – Season 2, on 20th January,2026 concluded with resounding success at the University of Colombo. The session drew an impressive level of student participation and enthusiasm, as the participants engaged in hands-on activities and insightful discussions, laying the groundwork for impactful projects.
University of Peradeniya Workshop
Following its successful run, the “Art of Innovation” Workshop, on 22nd January,2026 also made a significant impact at the University of Peradeniya.The workshop provided invaluable insights and practical guidance, further igniting the passion for creating a circular future within the university community.
Official Kick-off
The Circularity Challenge – Season 2 officially kicked off at gapHQ in a landmark hybrid event that combined the spirit of competition with academic depth. This milestone event served as the official launch of Season 2.
A distinguished expert panel led an inspiring conversation on “Innovating for an Unwasted Future,” tackling critical themes of resource efficiency and sustainable growth. By engaging both physical and virtual participants, the kick-off meeting successfully bridged the gap between industry experts and budding innovators, setting a high standard for the journey ahead.
